A polder is a low-lying piece of land that forms an artificial hydrological unit surrounded by embankments known as dikes. Every moment is different, every moment is new. The famous Zeeland light always plays a big part, the sea reflects it. "Amazing how a tiny splash of red makes the whole sky more intense. Her low horizon lines are so dramatic and very Dutch. " (DH) "Van Nieuwenhuijzen's landscapes are expansive and stem from an intense experience of the openness of the Zeeland area. An undertone of mysticism is unmistakable.
