About the artist
" What I like most about painting is energy, spontaneity, colour, emotion and impression. "
Wojtek Babski is an experienced Polish artist who has exhibited his work nationally. Primarily female motifs such as faces, figures and silhouettes are painted. His works are a combination of realism and abstract painting. Each piece features bold, vibrant colours achieved through broad brush and palette knife strokes and large contrasting dots of colour. Ultimately, Babski seeks for his works to attract attention with their bold expression.

Wojtek lives in Katowice, Poland, and has his own painting studio. He mainly paints female motifs: faces, figures, silhouettes. My works are a combination of realism and abstract painting. Definitely modern painting. Strong, vivid colours with broad brush and palette knife strokes and large patches of contrasting colour. He concentrates on the impression. The painting is meant to dominate the interior and attract attention. It is not background music, but bold, expressive, even aggressive painting for daring large interiors and for demanding, uncompromising people.
"All my paintings are on canvas. I like to work on quite large formats, from 1.4 to 2 metres or larger. I usually use acrylic paints, which I combine with different techniques, especially when creating collages. I get most of the inspiration for my portraits from the photos I take myself, but also occasionally from other sources such as the internet or the press.
Street art and abstracts also play an important role in my work. I love them because they are free, alive, spontaneous and without rules. My street art paintings, often collages, are also created on canvas using different techniques. What I like most about painting is momentum, energy, spontaneity, colours, emotions and impressions. And that is what I try to achieve with my works."
Currently, his works are becoming more and more appreciated, selling well and increasing in value, so they can be found in many interiors around the world.
