About the artist
With my colourful works I want to give the viewers a positive feeling of their own Pop Art style.
In her modern pop art works, the graphic designer combines nostalgic Hollywood glamour with classical painting and collage elements.
Nathali vK takes the viewer on a journey to bygone eras as well as to places of longing and lets them dive into fascinating worlds and dreams. She skilfully combines nostalgia with the present and makes her works appear modern and charismatic.

Nathali vK's favourite motifs are portraits as well as unforgettable and timeless cult objects, such as the Chanel No5 bottle and the Kelly Bag. The focus is on expressive, strong personalities and icons who embody traditions and self-confidence, role model and inspiration for many generations. Each motif thus has and tells its very own story. Each person, regardless of when they lived or are still alive, has moved or touched many people emotionally.
The choice of their motifs usually falls on strong personalities who shaped entire generations and became style icons such as Audrey Hepburn, James Dean, Coco Chanel, Romy Schneider or Grace Kelly.
Her works are created from painted areas of colour and varnish that run into each other and produce shapes that she combines with photos, film posters or advertising motifs. This is where the passion of professional painting meets Nathali von Kretschmann's design experience. The print is made on high-quality aluminium, partly worked in creative form, or on acrylic glass. For the final design, she paints each work individually with resin and highly pigmented airbrush colours.
Through the simultaneous use of graphic and written symbols, she invites individual interpretations and ways of looking at things. Fragments and collages from, for example, old cinema posters complete the atmospheric scenes and portraits.
Whether unique or serigraph, each work is unique. Because each print of an edition is completed by the artist herself with a finish in the form of free painting and other techniques, and thus individualised. Her works are created in her Frankfurt studio on acrylic, aluminium and canvas.
