About the artist
A cold grey landscape turns yellow and red for me.
Mirek Kuzniar is an established artist from Germany whose paintings have been shown in solo exhibitions nationwide. Raised in a family of artists, Mirek began practising at a young age and now defines his style in colourful landscapes, city scenes and portraits using a palette knife technique in oil on canvas. His work is characterised by a vibrancy through energetic brushstrokes and saturated colour palettes.

Mirak Kuzniar was born on 12 August 1968 in Boleslawiec, Lower Silesia (Poland). He has lived in Heilbronn, Germany, since 1981.
He mainly paints with palette knife and oil paints. Certain motifs recur again and again in his paintings. Landscapes, city scenes and lovers walking hand in hand. Animals, mothers with children and elderly people also accompany his canvases.
His paintings are characterised by a strongly reduced colour palette, which nevertheless appeals to the viewer as very lively. It is not important to him to depict everything correctly. But much more to transform a monotonous scene into a colourful life with quick palette knife work. A cold grey landscape becomes flaming yellow and red.
