About the artist
"Art is my greatest passion"
In Caroline te Neues' studio "CtN", flowering fantasies are created on handmade paper, cardboard or fabric using a very unique painting technique: with brushes of different thicknesses and a lot of smack, the acrylic paints are thrown onto the surface, flowing and running into stems and leaves. With a palette knife, te Neues forms buds and open blossoms from the blobs of colour. She wears a trench coat belonging to her mother, who died four years ago, as her painting coat.
The picture formats vary from miniature to around two metres in size. In partly strong, also bright neon tones, the flower meadows seem like pure energy and bear names like "Rosa Prosa", "finally free", "mood of nature" or "budding start".

The daughter of art dealer Hans-Georg Paffrath and his wife Helena, Caroline spent a lot of time as a child with her father at the Paffrath Gallery in Düsseldorf on Königsallee, which was founded in 1867. "I lived above the shop with my parents and my four siblings," she says. Later, she worked for 22 years in the gallery run by her brother Hans, the fifth generation, and learned from her brother Georg in the restoration studio. Art was and is her constant companion.
"In 2019, I "designed" my own painting technique, which I take great pleasure in and would like to develop further."
